
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, commercially branded “Norwegian”, is a publicly traded low-cost airline listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
The company is the second largest airline in Scandinavia and has a route portfolio that stretches across Europe into North Africa and the Middle East. The airline currently operates 261 routes to 100 destinations.
With competitive prices and customer friendly solutions and service, the company has experienced significant growth over the previous years. In 2010, 13 million passengers travelled with the airline. New and more environmentally friendly fleet

Norwegian will receive a total of 73 new state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft in the period 2008- 2014, providing the company with one of the most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly fleets in commercial operation.

Awards

In January 2009, Air Transport World (ATW) named Norwegian “Market Leader of the Year”. The award recognized Norwegian for several accomplishments:
- successful adaptation of the low-cost model to the Scandinavian air travel market
- its strategy to combine low fares with high tech with strong emphasis on customer-focused information technology
- swift market response to the collapse of Sterling
- the ability to stay profitable in challenging times
The ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards are considered the Oscars of the industry.
In August 2008, SkyTrax named Norwegian the best low cost carrier in Northern Europe. In April 2008, Norwegian was awarded a prize for being the best Norwegian company in terms of public reputation, and for having the best management of all companies in Norway.
